Brickland Eventing is the culmination of more than 14 years of hard work by Emily Mastervich Beshear. Throughout her youth in Michigan and into her young rider years, she worked and trained with the best in the business, including David and Karen O’Connor and Jimmy Wofford. Her career continued to blossom as she moved into the ranks of professional event riders where her talents with developing young horses became readily apparent. As her competitive achievements illustrate, she has a knack for making champions out of horses that no one else gave a chance.

Emily is married to Jeff Beshear, an equine veterinarian and partner in Old Dominion Equine Associates, based in Charlottesville, VA.  Jeff, a native Kentuckian and lifelong equestrian, fills numerous roles including vet, groom, exercise rider, and cheerleader.

The newest member of the Brickland family, Nicholas Ryan Beshear, was born April 17, 2003 at UVA hospital.  Since his arrival, it seems he garners more attention at the events than any of the horses.
